Forest Park Hike

Christopher and I went on a great hike through Portland's Forest Park today. I had never been there before and was really amazed by how large this "park" was. It is literally an over sized 5,124.28 acre forest right in the middle of Portland. There are trails winding all through out it, the longest being an incredible 30 miles.

2004 O'Reilly Mac OS X Conference

I am back from the 2004 O'Reilly Mac OS X Conference and Wil and I are on the final stretch of Delicious Library. I had a great time down there, it was really a good trip. I got to see a bunch of old friends and make a bunch of new ones, I could not ask for more. But I did get more, Delicious Library won 1st place in the 2004 Mac OS X Innovators Awards. Wil and I got to speak at the "Meet the Innovators" session on Tuesday where we got to talk about our ideas and tell everyone what we think it takes to make great software. I really enjoyed talking about this stuff and the people in the session seemed to really enjoy it as well.

After the Meet the Innovators session everyone went to the "Innovators Award Reception" were I had a great time showing everyone Delicious Library running on an amazing 30" Cinema Display. Everyone loved the app. They really did, 100% of the people I showed the app to loved it. I am really glad people are getting it.

Mike's Desktop Photos

I carry my Canon s500 digital camera (used to carry my s400 till it broke) around with me a lot and take random photos of different things I think looks cool. I was going through my iPhoto Library the other day and started pulling aside some photos I thought would look good on my Mac OS X desktop. I thought I would share these photos with anyone who wants to try them out on their desktop. I am using the rainy street photo right now.

Seattle Librarians Agree, Delicious Library is Truly Delicious.

I have been going around to a bunch of schools libraries in Seattle showing off and getting feed back on Delicious Library. It is official, librarians LOVE Library. Every librarian I have showed the program too has been incredibly excited about it and has instantly seen the power of our little program over there current oversized mess of a system.

Today I was at one school showing Delicious Library to a librarian. By the time I was half way done demoing it she was so excited she jumped up and yelled over to some volunteering moms telling them to come over and check it out. They came over and I gave them a quick demo. They were both REALLY into it. They all agreed they were going to buy it for there homes and said there kids were also going to love it. They then went on telling me why my program was so cool. It was great to see people getting it.

If it is good enough for Seattles top pro librarians it is defiantly good enough for you worthless scum.
