I just took a photo of the back of an old photo (so it was blank), photoshopped it so each border was a little different, and drew in the shadow. Then I took the photos messed with the contrast to make them look old, converted them to B/W with the channel mixer, tinted them slightly brown and put them over the photo frame using a "Multiple" blend mode so the darks show up and the lights go transparent. Thats it, I only used photoshop, no 3D here.

It's nice to know others secrets - that way you learn more / try more things, especially if you give away your own too ;0)
- Anyway this type of drop shadow can be made by Apple's iWeb application (when you pull in a picture, you can apply different boarders and shadows.
Though I think this was done in Photoshop. I'm I right Mike?
