Tofino Camping Trip

I went camping this weekend with Tim Omernick, Scott Maier, and Andrew Wilkinson. On Saturday morning Tim and I took the Victoria Clipper from Seattle to Victoria where we meet up with Andrew and Scott and then drove up to Tofino, British Columbia on Vancover Island in Canada. We got in to Tofino at about 2:00 AM, set up our tent, tried to make a fire, and went to bed. The next morning we got up walked around on the beach and then headed in to town where we rented wet suits and boogie boards. We drove over to Cox Bay and had a really great time surfing on the huge waves. That night we made a huge bon fire on the beach and roasted some Veggie Dogs. Monday we drove home across some incredibly gorgeous terrain we missed in the darkness on the way up. Here are a few photos from the trip.

I miss British Columbia. Prince George is a really nice town. I always make sure I spend a couple nights in Prince George when I drive from Alaska to Washington. There's also some really cool places to camp along the Cassiar, but I forget exactly where. Then, there's also the places that have signs outside that say Hotel, and you drive in only to find out that it's actually a truck trailer split up into seven rooms the same size as the twin bed inside, with no air conditioning and a few yellowjackets inside. Avoid those!
I'll have to check out Tofino, next time. It sounds awesome!

i just found you blog searching for some Arrested Development information and saw that you went to Tofino, I spent a few weeks there in May. It is so amazing, the rain forest is truly a remarkable place to be.

hey man , we are planing to go to tofino some friends and I, and i was just wondering where did u camp man. thos pic look awsome, if u can tell me a cool place were to camp i will apreciat it THANKS
