New Apartment

Saturday, December 11, 2004

My old apartment turned out to be a dump, so on Thursday I went and signed a lease for a new apartment and moved in that night. My new place is really nice, mainly because it's location. It is right across the street from Magnuson Park, a HUGE ex-naval base turned park right on Lake Washington. I go to this park a lot and go for a walk and listen to audio books. Now I can just walk across the street and go to the park. I even have an ok view of the park out my window. Here are some photos of my new set up.

Where and how did you get that life poster made?

Also, I wanted to get in touch with you, I tried your emails on this and your Delicious monster site, but I don't know if you check those. Is it cool to hit you up over AIM?

Nice Pad!

hey mike - nice images there! i've noticed two odd things in them that i was wondering if you could explain? they are rather silly, but it's 8:20am here and i've just woke up so bear with me!

first off, on your desk is a jar of pens in the upper left corner but there is a complete lack of paper/pads/etc. anywhere on which to use said instruments. looking at the desk more, i noticed that there is also no drawers in which to put paper. where do you keep the paper that you use with those pens?

secondly (and more importantly), i find it terribly difficult to fathom that the co-president of delicious monster does not have an isight connected to his computer, hanging off his monitor, sitting on his desk, etc.!

lastly, how is that ipod sitting in the dock charging through that sock? do they have holes in the bottom or did you cut one open?

thanks mike. i like your blog and check it every day. i'd love to add you to my buddy list in ichat (via isight, no less!) someday. hit me up sometime via email (or visit my blog if you've the time) and we'll chat it up!

"What exactly are the stairs for?"I have a little one room loft.

-----------------------------------------------------

"No boxes with software?"I do not understand?

-----------------------------------------------------

"first off, on your desk is a jar of pens in the upper left corner but there is a complete lack of paper/pads/etc. anywhere on which to use said instruments. looking at the desk more, i noticed that there is also no drawers in which to put paper. where do you keep the paper that you use with those pens?"It's true, I do not have any paper around right now. That jar is filled with a bunch of white board markers though, and I have plenty of them.

-----------------------------------------------------

"secondly (and more importantly), i find it terribly difficult to fathom that the co-president of delicious monster does not have an isight connected to his computer, hanging off his monitor, sitting on his desk, etc.!"I have my iSight in my laptop backpack since I never know when I am going to be giving a Delicious demo. I am probably going to get another one just from my apartment though.

-----------------------------------------------------

"lastly, how is that ipod sitting in the dock charging through that sock? do they have holes in the bottom or did you cut one open?"It is on upside-down.

I think that a portrait of your wildly succesful and incredibly good-looking cousin from Minnesota would be a nice touch for the ladies that visit your new apartment...See you in Fla Y2K4?

Haha wow you just live down the bridge :) Radford Park was one of the establisments I was considering to stay at for college (I'm a freshman). However my roommate wanted to live closer to the Ave, so I'm stuck here at the Travigne :) The apartment looks great.

I would really love to know how/where you had that life poster made. The more details you have, the better. Feel free to email me if you don't want to post all the details. Thanks!

Hey Mike, I love the apartment and the location.

Would you mind sharing which one of the floor plans in the development this is?

(BTW, are you OCD or is this neatness just a case of "I'm about to photograph my apartment and show it to the whole world" syndrome?)

I have the "One Bedroom
with Small Loft"
floor plan. That is how my apartment always looks.

Are you running your powerbook with the screen closed?
I'd love to do that myself but i'm a bit worried about heat messing the thing up.
Everyone i've heard from strongly warns not to run the machine with the lid closed so because it vents heat through the keyboard.

If you are running it closed, how long have you been doing it & have you noticed any problems?

I was just curious what camera you're using to take your pics? They're nice quality. Let me know if you don't mind. Sorry, I'm a photography major and am always interested in what people are using. Thanks

Few months ago I was looking for an apartment in Los Angeles (I got a job there). I couldn’t even think about difficulties which were waiting for me. I checked ads, went to agencies which offered houses, but nothing was as useful as Internet, especially this search for apartment site.
Of course, I concentrated to my needs (considered the area I would like to live, made a list of my top housing priorities, considered amenities and etc. ), created my own note-taking system and allowed my self time. I could eliminate apartments which didn’t meet my needs. I saved time and money. I found beautiful apartment and I’m very satisfied with my new home.
